V-Tech was established in 2003 in Midrand, South Africa, by veterinarians Dr Johan Oosthuyse and Dr David Gerber. Being veterinarians themselves, they identified the desperate call for veterinary compounded medicines.

Following the significant investment of time, expertise and capital, V-Tech was born to answer this plea.

Today, V-Tech is the largest veterinary compounding pharmacy in South Africa and trusted by many veterinarians and animal caregivers for its reliability, well-managed supply chains, and long-term customer relationships. Our South African production site consists of 2500sqm of world class facilities with two pharmacies and one contract manufacturing plant equipped to produce Stock Remedies.

Johan

Johan Oosthuyse

Chief Executive Officer & Director | BVSc, Masters in Business Leadership

Johan qualified as a veterinarian at Onderstepoort in 1991 and later completed a Master’s in Business Leadership. After working in private practice in the UK and South Africa, he joined Healthtech Laboratories as CEO in 1998. He played a key role in establishing V-Tech and now leads the company as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Bernard Du Plessis

Non-Executive Director | BCom, BCom Honours (Accounting)/CTA and an MCom in Taxation

Bernard is a Chartered Accountant and tax specialist with extensive experience across regulatory, audit, and legal environments. He has advised leading local and international companies on complex transactions and tax structuring, and joined V-Tech in 2025 to provide strategic oversight and governance support.

Muhammad

Muhammad Hasware

Chief Operating Officer | EXCO Member BCom Accounting

Muhammad holds a BCom Accounting degree and qualified in 2010. He began his career as a Senior Accountant at a leading audit firm before joining V-Tech as an Accountant. Progressing through key financial roles, he was appointed Financial Manager in 2012 and Chief Financial Officer in 2014. He now serves as Chief Operating Officer, driving operational efficiency and strategic growth.

Nettie

Nettie Vogel

Chief Human Resources Officer | EXCO Member BCom & Certificate in Advanced Labour Law

Nettie holds a BCom degree and a Certificate in Advanced Labour Law. She gained experience across healthcare, motor, and aviation industries before joining V-Tech in 2012. She now leads the HR function, focusing on people development and organisational growth.
