The V-TechTraining Academy

The V-Tech Training Academy offers a wide range of training programs designed to benefit and advance the art of compounding veterinary medicines.

Training is available at V-Tech on both an internal and external basis to all personnel, ensuring comprehensive development opportunities for everyone at V-Tech.

Internal Training Programmes

V-Tech is an accredited South African Pharmacy Council Training Center authorised to train pharmacy personnel who are pursuing careers as pharmacy assistants at basic and post-basic levels. V-Tech also provides internship programmes for pharmacists to gain experience in the compounding of medicines.

Internal skills development programmes are offered at V-Tech through a structured training system that offers personnel various self-enrichment programmes. Personnel are encouraged to participate and are rewarded for achieving training targets.

Our internal training programme supports Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, providing veterinarians, veterinary nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacist assistants with easy access to professional growth opportunities and ensuring compliance with council requirements.

Every year V-Tech announces a Training Star of the Year. This accolade goes to the individual who has exemplified a commitment to training, motivated colleagues to participate, completed the most courses, and significantly contributed to their department.

Continuous on-the-job training is provided to all personnel to ensure that they remain updated with the latest industry practices and standards. This ongoing training helps employees develop and refine their skills, adapt to new technologies, and stay informed about current advancements in veterinary medicine and compounding.

External Training Programmes

Various approved service providers accredited with the South African Sector Education and Training Authority are used for external training.

Our pharmacists undergo comprehensive compliance training in all relevant South African legislation by accredited law firms.

Additional courses in Adult Basic Education Training, Health and Safety and formal degrees/certificates at Tertiary Institutions are offered to employees who qualifies in terms of V-Tech’s development programme.

The technical sales team receives continuous guidance and training from experts in customer care, sales and product support.

Operational staff are trained in operational procedures and use of equipment by Stargate Scientific Pharmaceutical Sciences, South Africa Association of Pharmacists in Industry, ESCO life sciences and other service providers.

Bursaries

V-Tech has established a bursary initiative to support the educational advancement of personnel and potential employees. We understand that continuous learning is essential for personal and professional development.

Personnel may enrol at external accredited service providers to further their education and knowledge in accordance with development programmes.

This programme provides financial assistance to individuals, allowing them to enrol in part-time courses at tertiary education institutions.

We invest in the future of the veterinary and pharmaceutical compounding industries by offering bursaries to selected students. The aim is to help talented individuals complete their education and embark on successful careers.
